The project management process consists of planning, organizing,
executing, monitoring and closing activities. Planning involves defining
what work is going to be done, who is going to do it, how long it's
going to take, and what results are expected at the end of the effort.
Organizing is the actual execution of the plan including assigning tasks
to qualified personnel, scheduling assignments, delegating
responsibilities, assigning resources, tracking progress and ensuring
quality standards are met. Executing the plan includes carrying out the
assigned tasks to achieve the goals of the plan. Monitoring is the
oversight of the project to ensure everything goes according to the
plan. Closing is the final step of the project where things are put back
together again after the project is complete, changes have been made
and any necessary adjustments have been made.
This course covers the essentials of project management including
planning, scheduling, monitoring, controlling, leading, and closing
projects. Students will learn how to use tools and techniques from both
PMBOK® Guide 7th Edition and Project Management Institute's (PMI®) 2022
